Fulfil your dream of reaching the highest peak in Tyrol: the guided high-altitude ski tour to the Wildspitze (3,770 m) is a real highlight for ambitious ski tourers. The starting point is the Pitztal valley - with the support of the glacier lifts, the ascent is shortened so that the tour can be completed as a challenging but manageable day tour.
With an experienced ski guide at your side, you will experience the glacier world of the Ötztal main ridge in all its fascination - safely, competently and individually guided. The tour requires a good level of fitness, safe off-piste skiing and experience with crampons and crampons.
A breathtaking panorama and the indescribable feeling of standing on the roof of Tyrol await you at the summit - before the descent over wide slopes provides the perfect finish.

Meeting point: In the morning at the Glacier Express valley station Mittelberg (Time depends on the journey times of the glacier railway)
We do an equipment check, briefly discuss the day's programme and then take the Glacier Express up to the Pitztal glacier ski area. The tour ends at around 15:00.

Participation requirements
For the ski tour to the Wildspitze, you should already have some ski touring experience. You don't have to be an expert, but the ski tour to the Wildspitze is not suitable for beginners.
You should be able to ski off-piste in changing snow conditions. You have enough stamina for five to six hours and 800 metres of ascent. Please note that we are travelling in glaciated terrain at over 3,000 metres, where the air gets thin. You should therefore definitely do a few preparation tours during the winter.
You don't need to have any mountaineering/glacier experience, but you should be free from giddiness.
Equipment list
- Backpack (approx. 25-35 litres), ABS backpack if available
- Suitable ski touring boots with walking function
- Ski touring skis with bindings and crampons
- Suitable and well-adhering tensioning adhesive skins
- Telescopic ski poles
- Modern avalanche transceiver (avalanche transceiver, 3-antenna device) with new batteries*
- Avalanche probe and avalanche shovel (made of metal)*
- Helmet (recommended, not a must)
- Clothing suitable for the mountains, dry change of clothes, 1 litre of liquid, snack/cereal bar, change of gloves
For ski mountaineering tours with glacier access additionally:
- Adapted crampons with front points*
- Ice axe* (suitable for mountaineering)
- Climbing harness*
- 1x Safelock carabiner (or 2x screw carabiners)*
