Taster ski tour with a ski guide - the ideal introduction to ski touring
Would you like to try ski touring but don't know exactly where to start? Then our guided taster ski tour is just the thing for you. In a relaxed atmosphere and accompanied by an experienced ski guide, you'll take your first steps on touring skis - without any pressure to perform, but with plenty of know-how.
We look at the equipment together: Touring skis, skins, bindings, crampons - everything is explained and tried out straight away. You will learn the basic ascent technique, how to deal with hairpin bends and how to be efficient in the terrain.
An important part of the taster tour is also the introduction to emergency equipment. You will learn how an avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel work and why they are part of the basic equipment for every tour. Depending on the snow and weather conditions, the tour takes place on secured sections of piste or in easily accessible off-piste terrain.
This tour is aimed at anyone who wants to get a taste of ski touring - safely guided, practical and with plenty of room for questions.
Your introduction to the world of ski touring - well-founded, safe and individually guided.
Procedure according to your wishes
We meet at the agreed location - either directly at the starting point of the tour or at a nearby meeting point. After a short equipment check, we start the approx. 3-hour programme together.
Firstly, you'll get a practical introduction to the equipment: How do touring skis, skins and bindings work? What do you need to pay attention to when putting on and taking off skins? Then we practise our first ascent techniques and move around in the terrain or on suitable sections of piste.
Another focus is the use of emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel). You will learn how to react in an emergency and why the right behaviour is crucial.
The exact programme for the day depends on the snow, weather and avalanche conditions and the personal requirements of the participants.
Included services:
- Guided tour by a state-certified ski guide (3 hours incl. breaks)
- Hire of emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe)
- Tour planning & organisation
- Personal advice in advance
Services not included:
- Costs for arrival and departure
- Costs for lift tickets and taxi transfers
- Costs for accommodation and catering
- Other equipment you need on the tour (skis, skins, ABS rucksack, harness, crampons, etc.)
- Expenses of the guide on site
- Individual tips
Participation requirements
The taster ski tour is aimed at sporty skiers who would like to get to know ski touring. The prerequisite is safe, parallel skiing on black pistes - so you should be able to ski down in a controlled and safe manner even in difficult conditions.
Some experience in open terrain is an advantage, but not a prerequisite. A good basic level of fitness is important to be able to manage about an hour's ascent. The tour is technically easy and ideal for beginners who want to take their first step off-piste.
