Tyrol: Freeriding with a ski guide

Difficulty:

Maximum flexibility - best possible conditions

Tyrol's freeride highlights in one package: From our centrally located base camp in Landeck, we explore the best freeride spots in the region every day - always tailored to the snow, weather and avalanche situation. The goal: the best lines in optimal conditions.

One region - endless possibilities
Within just 60 minutes by car, we can reach legendary freeriding areas such as the Kaunertal Glacier, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, the Paznaun Valley or the Pitztal Valley. Smaller, lesser-known ski areas are also on the programme, especially in bad weather, when we can enjoy safe tree runs and surprisingly good powder days there.

Your advantage: pure flexibility
No fixation on a single area, just go where the conditions are best every day. Together with your ski guide, you decide what makes the most sense - for maximum skiing enjoyment with maximum safety.

The evening before, we phone and coordinate where the best snow conditions are currently to be expected in the region.

Meeting point:At 8.45 a.m. at the valley station of the cable car in the agreed ski area. After a safety briefing and a discussion of the planned tour, we set off. On the way we stop off at a hut or restaurant in the valley. The freeride day ends at around 14:00. By arrangement, we can also meet at your accommodation and drive to the ski area together.

The exact programme for the day depends on the snow, weather and avalanche conditions and the personal requirements of the participants.

Included services:

  • Guided tour by a state-certified ski guide (5 hours per day, including breaks)
  • Hire of emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe)
  • Tour planning & organisation
  • Personal advice in advance

Services not included:

  • Costs for arrival and departure
  • Costs for lift tickets and taxi transfers
  • Costs for accommodation and catering
  • Other equipment you need on the tour (skis, skins, ABS rucksack, harness, crampons, etc.)

Participation requirements

The minimum requirement for deep snow skiing is safe, parallel skiing in the open ski area and stamina for five to six hours of skiing with breaks. If it hasn't snowed for a long time, we also have to cover short ascents of 30 to 60 minutes with touring skis or skis on a rucksack.

  • Backpack with ski attachment option (approx. 20-30 litres), airbag backpack if available
  • Ski suitable for deep snow, at least 90-100 mm centre width
  • Binding with walking function and tensioning adhesive skins - This means we can also cover short climbs and reach the best descents.
  • Telescopic poles with large deep snow discs
  • Modern Avalanche transceiver (avalanche transceiver, 3-antenna device) with new batteries*
  • Avalanche probe and avalanche shovel (made of metal)*
  • Helmet
